Emily Cox

Emily Cox is one of the most sought-after actresses in the German-speaking world. She has appeared in successful films and won awards at international festivals, including the Berlinale, the Max Ophüls Festival, and the Diagonale. She achieved international breakthrough with the successful Netflix/BBC series The Last Kingdom, in which she played the lead role of Brida for five seasons. The series is among the 15 most-streamed shows worldwide. Emily Cox grew up bilingual (English and German). Her British father and Irish mother are both pianists. From 2003 to 2008, she studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. During her training, she made her film debut alongside Susanne Lothar and Ulrich Mühe in Tobias Dörr’s short film Verwehte (2008). During her studies, she also played the lead role of Gretchen Dutschke-Klotz in Stefan Krohmer’s film Dutschke.
