David Astorga

David Astorga was born in Costa Rica in 1988. He began his studies of music and singing at the National University of Costa Rica and then at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium. After that he has followed the young artists programs of Flanders Opera in Gent and has been student of Plácido Domingo for three years in his academy at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, Spain. Astorga has colaborated with conductors like Zubin Mehta, Placido Domingo, Sigiswald Kuijken, Federico Maria Sardelli, Sebastiano Rolli among others and has sung in opera houses like Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Palau de les Arts de Valencia, Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and Gent, Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica, Teatro Sociale di Como, Teatro Arriga de Bilbao, Teatro Principal de Palma, Teatro Principal de Mahon and Auditorio de Tenerife. David Astorgas most recent and future engagements include Roberto Devereux at the Slovakian opera Kosice, Rossinis Stabat Mater at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Macduff in Macbeth at Opéra de Nice, Albazar in Il turco in Italia at Ópera de Oviedo, Arturo in Lucia die Lammermoor, Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims. Recently has performed Fenton at Teatro Maestranza, Alfredo, Tamino, Faust and Hoffmann at Ópera de Tenerife, Don Narciso in Turco in Italia at Ópera de Oviedo, Ottavio in Bucharest Opera and Nemorino in Manila among others. Most recently has performed Fenton at Teatro Principal Mahon and Palma, Nemorino at Teatro Sociale di Como and Basilio/Don Curzio at Teatro Comunale Bologna.
