Sondra Radvanovsky
SONDRA RADVANOVSKY was born near Chicaco and enrolled in the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program in the late 1990s. After appearing in smaller roles, she gained lasting artistic notice singing Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) and has since been guest performing at major opera houses, including ROH Covent Garden in London, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Zurich Opera House and her home stage, the New York Met. She has been performing Verdi heroines to great success, including Aida, Luisa Miller, Elvira (Ernani), Elena (Vespri siciliani), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Amelia (Simon Boccanegra), Lina (Stiffelio). Most recently, she triumphed as Norma at the New York Met, as Paolina (Poliuto) and Maddelena (Andrea Chénier) at Liceu in Barcelona, as Ballo-Amelia and Trovatore-Leonora at Opéra national de Paris and as Anna Bolena in Toronto. Future engagements include Aida and Tosca at the New York Met, Elisabetta in Munich and San Francisco, and Maddalena in London. At Vienna State Opera, she has so far sung Aida, Elena and Ballo-Amelia.
