KS ANGELIKA KIRCHSCHLAGER was born in Salzburg and studied vocal arts at the Wiener Musikakademie with Walter Berry and Gerhard Kahry. She is both succesful on the opera stage and the concert stage, and has performed among others at the Scala, the ROH Covent Garden, the Met, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Bayerischen Staatsoper, at the Salzburg Festival, at the Deutschen Oper as well as the Philharmonie Berlin and the San Francisco Opera. She made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1994 as Cherubino (Nozze di Figaro). Furthermore, she sang among others as Orlofsky, Jenny Hill, Rosina, Nicklausse, Octavian, Komponist, Valencienne, Silla (Palestrina), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette), Dorabella, Clairon (Capriccio), Zerlina. She celebrated big success at the world premiere in London and the Volksoper in the leading role of Sophie’s Choice. In 2007, she recieved the title of Austrian Kammersängerin.
