Catering

Culinary pleasures have a long tradition at the Opera Ball.
While the tradition is maintained, special emphasis is placed on high quality, regional products and local producers and partners.

Gerstner

The collaboration between the Vienna State Opera and Gerstner is celebrating its 155th anniversary this year. At the Opera Ball, Gerstner serves culinary perfection, offering a mix of classic favorites and modern variations primarily made from local ingredients. In addition to the well-known Gerstner Opera Ball sausages, Anton Gerstner's goulash soup, and popular sandwiches such as roast beef or Vulcano ham, the traditional Opera Ball caterer also emphasizes sustainability, featuring organic sausages, Barbara Gerstner's vegan lentil stew, and sandwiches with Brie de Meaux or Mediterranean ratatouille spread. Guests in the boxes can also indulge in fine Fines de Claire oysters and caviar. Gerstner's sweet treats, such as the traditional »Erdbeeren im Frack«, the Pariser Spitz, or Punschkrapferl, provide a sweet conclusion to the ball night. The Petit Fours »Oper« with nougat and pistachio is dedicated to the successful collaboration between Gerstner and the Vienna State Opera. With approximately 270 employees managing 139 boxes, 267 tables, and 11 buffets, Gerstner ensures the well-being of the guests throughout the entire ball evening.
