VIENNA OPERA BALL 2022 CANCELLED

As announced by State Secretary for the Arts and Culture Andrea Mayer, the Vienna Opera Ball will be cancelled again in 2022 due to the pandemic.

State Opera Director Bogdan Roscic: »We have done everything we can to maintain the possibility that the Opera Ball can still take place. But the whole situation at the moment simply does not offer the necessary conditions. And the ball needs months of preparation, also with all partners and suppliers. These deadlines could no longer be met. The uncertainty caused by Omikron added to this, and the uncertainty among the guests grew daily. I am therefore very happy about the clear decision taken today. We will now arrange a replacement programme for the affected week and otherwise continue to work on our ideas for the Opera Ball 2023 together with our committee.«
