On the death of the Queen

In May 1969, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visited the Vienna State Opera, which was celebrating its 100th anniversary that year, as part of their visit to Austria. Since the Queen preferred operettas to operas, the programme was changed. The programme included »Die Fledermaus« with an outstanding cast including Eberhard Wächter, Hilde Güden, Renate Holm and Otto Schenk.
