Standard Tours
Discover the largest repertoire company in the world and learn about many things that otherwise remain hidden to the evening opera-goer on a guided tour of the Vienna State Opera.
During the 40-minute tour, you will learn lots of interesting facts about the history of the building, its architecture and the opera business. From the foyer, the tour takes you up the grand staircase through the state rooms (tea salon, marble hall, Schwindfoyer, Gustav Mahler Hall) to the auditorium (with a view of the stage).
Our guided tours are offered in German and English at all times indicated. Guided tours in French, Spanish, Italian and Japanese are only offered at certain times.
Guided tours can only be purchased in our ticket store or 30 minutes before the respective tour on site at the box office (entrance at the corner of Opernring/Operngasse). Please note that only remaining places are available for purchase on site.

Children under 6 can take part in the standard tour free of charge.
Our guided tours have a maximum capacity of 30 people.
Please note that our guided tours are not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
To ensure that our guided tours can start on time, we ask you to be at the tour entrance (corner of Opernring/Operngasse) at least 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
Please take note of our cancellation policy for guided tours.

Our private tours cost €480 and are limited to a maximum of 20 people.
Guests with a valid Lower Austria CARD have one free tour admission.
A reservation via our webshop is required.
Please note that when booking online, you must first add normal price tickets to your shopping cart. You can then add the promotional code in the last step. The promotional code was received when you purchased your Niederösterreich-CARD.
Please bring your Niederösterreich-CARD with you so that it can be scanned before the tour begins.
Guests with a valid Vienna Pass or Flexi-Pass have one free tour admission.
You will find the required discount code in the order confirmation after ordering the Vienna Pass. A reservation via our webshop is required.
